The ambassador of the United States in Mexico, Christopher Landau visited Taxco de Alarcon, Guerrero, after the victory of Democrat Joe Biden, virtual president of the United States, where he met with the mayor of this colonial city, Marcos Efren Parra, and confirmed that the US has retired the travel alert for this tourist destination.
The municipal president of Taxco, Marcos Efrén Parra Gómez, through his Facebook page, announced the meeting he held with the American ambassador, who is considered a lover of Mexican culture and gastronomy.
The mayor thanked the diplomat for having eliminated the restriction on traveling to tourist destinations in Guerrero such as Taxco de Alarcón and now Americans are allowed to visit this breathtaking colonial city.
The mayor of Taxco released on his official social networks, a video of the meeting he held with the United States ambassador, Christopher Landau, and the state government’s deputy secretary for tourism promotion, Jesús Radilla.
The United States ambassador briefly declared in his speech that for several years a safety warning has been issued among consular workers not to visit Guerrero, including Acapulco, Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, and Taxco.
But now Taxco has been removed from the traveler’s alert and it has been clarified and announced on social networks that all United States government workers are now allowed to visit Taxco.
“We used to be forbidden any trip to Guerrero for reasons of insecurity, but fortunately, this has changed, and now we can visit this beautiful ccolonial city,” said the US Ambassador, Christopher Landau.
