Personnel from the United States Embassy, including some intelligence members, have made surprise visits to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and have had a pleasant impression of the tourist destination in terms of security, which could have a positive impact on the travel alert issued by the U.S. government.
The Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Pedro Castelán Reyna, highlighted that during these unexpected visits, some of the visitors have been identified as intelligence personnel, evidencing confidence in the security and tourist attractions of the region.
They have reported positive conditions that guarantee a safe stay for foreign tourists.
He considered that the visit and evaluation of these foreign authorities are important support for improving the international perception of security in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
