A ministerial police officer was killed in an armed confrontation between members of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and armed men between the borders of the Los Achotes and El Zarco communities in this city.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. this Monday on a hill located between these communities, where workers from the Attorney General’s Office were intercepted in the undergrowth and shot by armed men.
So far, the death of a ministerial police officer has been confirmed and several armed men have been reported wounded.
Soldiers from the 75th Infantry Battalion arrived by helicopter to carry out a security operation in the area.
The police officer’s body was also transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).
