Three People Swept Away by River in Guerrero Found Dead; They Were Participating in Rally Acapulcazo

Three people who were swept away by the river in the locality of Apango in the municipality of Mártir de Cuilapan, Guerrero, were found dead. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, August 29.

The two men and one woman were swept away by the rising river while aboard an RZR vehicle. They were participants in the Rally Acapulcazo.

Local media identified the victims as a married couple, Alberto Isaac, 45, and Angélica Consuelo, 31, both from Toluca, along with their friend Miguel.

Additionally, four people were rescued unharmed by Civil Protection personnel from the municipalities of Tixtla and Mártir de Cuilapan.

The search efforts were carried out by both municipal authorities and the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection of Guerrero.

The Rally Acapulcazo was organized by the associations RACE MEXICO and CLUB TAE. The event started in Toluca and was destined for Acapulco, with 300 participants.

The Municipal Government of Mártir de Cuilapan expressed their sorrow over the accident and extended their condolences to the victims’ families.
