Guerrero is buzzing with over 80% hotel occupancy

Guerrero is experiencing a weekend of high tourist activity, with thousands of families enjoying the attractions, sporting, artistic, and cultural events taking place in the main destinations of the “Home of the Sun,” generating a direct boost for hotels, restaurants, and service providers.

According to a press release, the State Tourism Secretariat, headed by Simón Quiñones Orozco, reported that this Sunday the state registered an average hotel occupancy rate of 82.8%, a result of the actions directed by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda to strengthen tourism, guarantee safe conditions, and position Guerrero as a national leader in entertainment and recreation.

Acapulco is consolidating its position as a leading destination, reporting an 82.8% occupancy rate this Sunday, driven by the hosting of national and international events.

By zone, the occupancy rates are as follows: Diamond: 68.1%, Golden: 92.7%, and the traditional zone: 81.1%.

The state’s tourist areas, such as Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo (89.1%), Taxco (70.8%), and La Unión (71.7%), continue to show strong occupancy rates.

Guerrero experienced a weekend full of energy, culture, and sports. The activities continue to attract visitors thanks to the coordinated security measures implemented by state and federal institutions, allowing for the successful development of large-scale events.

Among the highlights were: Festival Trópico 2025, the National Beach Handball Championship, the International Open Water Marathon, the artistic performance “Perfume de Gardenias,” the Zanka 7 Open Freediving Competition, and the Guerrero Culinary Festival Zihuatanejo 2025.

This atmosphere of fun, order, and security strengthens tourism in Guerrero and reinforces the confidence of national and international visitors in the state’s destinations.
