Through social media, the Taxco de Alarcón City Council announced the complete closure of vehicular traffic in Plaza Borda from February 23 to March 2, due to renovation work on the water infrastructure.
The announcement aims to inform residents and visitors, who primarily arrive on weekends to enjoy the attractions of this Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town).
The road closure will also affect access to the Santa Prisca and San Sebastián Parish, the Guillermo Spratling Museum, and Casa Borda.
In the statement, they request that people use alternate routes and follow the instructions of traffic officers who will be monitoring the area during the seven days of the closure; this is to ensure orderly traffic flow.
“Addressing the water infrastructure is essential to prevent further disruptions and guarantee better functioning of basic services in the heart of our municipality,” the announcement states.
Follow these recommendations:
Plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
Leave early.
Obey traffic signs.
Consider using public transportation or walking.
Stay informed through official municipal government channels.
