More than 15 thousand vehicles have been detained at checkpoints located at the entrances to the municipality of Chapala, according to President Moises Anaya, figures that are part of the “Chapala Health Emergency Plan” used from April 2 to April 13, to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Anaya Aguilar spoke about the work done at the filters on the access route to the city and confessed that the action has had controversy due to the tough measures implemented.
An average of 37,372 people riding in their vehicles have been stopped and returned from Jocotepec.
The mayor indicated that the Chapala Lake piers were cordoned off, as well as the public squares, which have become restricted spaces.
In addition, an operation of 113 services has been carried out, removing the same number of people who have not attended the recommendations, yielding a result of 19 detainees, as well as the closure of non-essential business.
