It will be in the month of September that the arrival of cruise ships to the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo beach pairing will resume, reported President Jorge Sánchez Allec, noting that they are still in the process of finalizing the season.

Consulted by the media on the subject, he explained that the Zihuatanejo Cruise Committee is collaborating in coordination with the government of Evelyn Salgado Pineda, to make it possible.

He did not give details about how many or what will be the ships that will dock at the destination, the truth is that the goal is to exceed the arrivals of previous years and he maintained that unlike the past, there is a dock and logistics ready for this year.

During the previous season, a cruise ship was the one that arrived in the municipality, the decrease was attributed to the havoc caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, since many shipping companies did not expand their routes as in previous years.

It should be noted that this segment of visitors is well received by the majority of tourist service providers; restaurateurs from the first square of the city, craft market and even hoteliers, because a high percentage of cruise passengers return for their stays in winter.
