Guerrero’s new prosecutor is a retired colonel of the Mexican Army

On April 3, Zipacná Torres took office as Attorney General of Guerrero amid the violence crisis that is plaguing the country and a few days after the Camila case in the city of Taxco.

At his inauguration he mentioned that his main objective was to “regain trust in the Attorney General’s Office” and he would do so “through actions and punctual work in the investigation of crimes.”

One of his first actions as Prosecutor was to request a diagnosis of the current situation of the organization that he will later present.

Zipacná Jesús Torres Ojeda was a prominent Army colonel and has extensive studies and experience in the field of Criminal Law and Human Rights.
