At the end of the summer vacation period, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo was the destination with the highest hotel occupancy rate during the summer holidays, at 88.1 percent. It should be noted that this ratio includes the town of Zihuatanejo and the neighboring hotel and residential area of Ixtapa.
The Diamante area of Acapulco reached a hotel occupancy rate of 84.1 percent, while its neighboring Zona Dorada and Bahía Tradicional areas recorded 82.9 and 82.7 percent of hotel rooms occupied by domestic and international tourists.
The magical town of Taxco de Alarcón had an average of 72.3 percent of its hotel rooms occupied.
The tourist destination of La Unión also stood out, with 83.1% hotel occupancy.
According to the state Tourism Secretariat, headed by Simón Quiñones Orozco, these results are a result of the diversity of experiences Guerrero offers: cultural, sports, adventure, meeting, and gastronomic tourism, which complement its beaches and magical towns.
