As part of the comprehensive strategy to support the agricultural sector promoted by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda to strengthen the productivity of Guerrero’s countryside, the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Rural Development (SAGADEGRO) monitored the progress of plots planted with improved corn in the municipalities of Pilcaya and Taxco.

According to a bulletin, during the tours, producers acknowledged the support of Governor Evelyn Salgado and expressed gratitude for the delivery of high-quality seeds adapted to the conditions of each region, which provides greater certainty for harvests, reduces the risk of losses, and contributes to increasing agricultural production in the state.

The Undersecretary of Agriculture and Rural Infrastructure, Pavel Ernesto Damián Díaz, representing the head of SAGADEGRO, Alejandro Zepeda Castorena, led the supervision of the plots, where he emphasized that the combination of improved seeds, soil potential, and the region’s climatic conditions favor optimal corn development.

The agency reported that these supervisions will continue in other municipalities in the state, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at strengthening agricultural production and ensuring the well-being of Guerrero families, an effort complemented by strategic programs such as the Dough and Tortilla Stabilization Program.

The Director General of Technological Development, Rigoberto Hernández López, and the Director General of Agriculture, Plant Health, and Climate Contingencies, Alberto Casarrubias Ortega, also participated in the tour.
