High school student goes missing in Chilpancingo, Guerrero

Chilpancingo, Guerrero, June 5, 2026 (SG). – Cristel Pineda Ávila, a 16-year-old student at the Colegio de Bachilleres Plantel Número Uno high school in Chilpancingo, the state capital, has been missing since Wednesday, June 3rd.

The Guerrero State Attorney General’s Office has issued a missing person alert for the minor through the Violet Alert program. Cristel attends the afternoon session at the school, which is located in the Reforma neighborhood.

She lives in the PRI neighborhood and was last seen on Álvarez Avenue at the Unidos por Guerrero area, where she went to have dinner. Since that night, the teenager has not returned home, and her family fears for her safety.

At the time of her disappearance, the young woman was wearing a brown blouse, dark blue denim shorts, and white sneakers. She has a nose piercing.
