Ixtapa Zihuatanejo welcomed 99 passengers on the inaugural flight from Puebla, operated by Volaris, a new air connection that strengthens the arrival of domestic travelers to the so-called “double paradise.”

The route will have three weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Currently, Volaris offers six direct connections to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo from Querétaro, Mexico City, Tijuana, Morelia, Guadalajara, and now, Puebla.

This new route is part of the strategies promoted by the destination during the Tianguis Turístico México 2026, where an alliance with Volaris was formalized to strengthen tourism promotion and generate new opportunities for economic and tourism growth for both regions.

The flight arrived this Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. with 99 passengers on board, who were welcomed with music, traditional dances, and a warm atmosphere at the Zihuatanejo International Airport, reflecting the hospitality that characterizes the destination.

The executive director of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), Pedro Castelán Reyna, stated:

“We are very pleased and excited about this new air route connecting Puebla with the beaches of our destination. We know it is a market with great potential and we are confident that it will be a very successful route for both regions.”

He added that the CVB is working in coordination with Volaris, business partners, and the tourism sector to boost the arrival of more visitors, strengthen connectivity and economic activity, with the goal of consolidating Ixtapa Zihuatanejo as one of Mexico’s favorite beach destinations.
