Taxco, Guerrero July 23, 2021.- The Government of Taxco receives three mayors of the Republic of Guatemala, members of the EXPOMUNI Program in order to exchange and share knowledge about programs and projects that have been carried out in the municipality, as drivers of the local economy.
The president of Taxco, Marcos Efrén Parra Gómez, welcomed the mayors Pablo Escobar of the municipality of Chichihuastenango and Winter Cop Ba, of the state of Huehuetenango Guatemala, which is located on the border adjacent to the state of Chiapas Mexico, accompanied by officials Fredy Coal, Mario Artz and Lucelio Canil, as well as Carlos Lorenzana representing EXPOMUNI.
Marcos Parra Gómez, with the presence of the Secretary of Education and Culture, Alicia Sierra Navarro and the head of the Undersecretariat of Municipal Ecology, Mayra Mireya Ramírez García, gave a brief historical review of the city of Taxco, to later mention the most outstanding projects and programs that are developed in the municipality such as: the Strategic Plan of the San Juan River Micro-basin, the collection of rainwater and the garbage collection works that are deposited in the sanitary landfill.
Also, the tourist attraction programs of natural places in which he highlighted, the promotion of the Blue Pools of the Atzala community and the Las Granadas river known as Las Mil Cascadas, which is already the preference of sports tourism.
By instructions of Mayor Marcos Parra, in order to continue exchanging knowledge and projects that benefit the municipalities; They created a Group Chat with Guatemalan officials to keep in touch and follow up on information on tourism, water and reforestation programs.
At the end of the meeting where the Secretary General of the Government Bladimir Zavala Andrade was present, President Marcos Parra gave presents to the distinguished visitors, which consisted of a book on the history of Mining in Taxco and a bracelet with the emblem of the municipal government and the church of Santa Prisca made of silver.
For his part, Mayor Winter Cop Ba, of the municipality of Huehuetenango, thanked the Taxco authorities for their welcome, who gave their time to exchange knowledge on the projects carried out in the municipality; Later, he gave the municipality of Taxco an acknowledgment for his support and participation in the Municipal Congress of Mayors Guatemala 2021, of EXPOMUNI.
