The Morena candidate for Mayor of Chilapa, Tomás Morales Patrón, was shot to death on Tuesday, March 12th by a single shooter when he arrived at his house located on Ajolotero Street in the Dulce Nombre neighborhood.
According to reports, around 11 p.m., Tomás Morales arrived at his home located almost in the center of Chilapa aboard his red Volkswagen Pointer compact car.

An armed individual intercepted Tomás Morales when he was getting out of his vehicle and shot him twice in the head. Later, a group of paramedics arrived just to confirm the death of the Morena candidate.
Tomás Morales, who until a few months ago was a member of the National Welfare Secretariat, was a constant follower on his Facebook profile of the political activities of Morena’s presidential candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum.
In the 2009-2012 constitutional period of the mayor of the municipality of José Joaquín Herrera, Aniceto Morales Bello, Tomás Morales, was a municipal councilor in that city.
