As part of the San Marcos National Fair Day, the Aguascalientes Municipal Institute for Culture (IMAC) offered a moving concert featuring traditional Mexican music, led by three local ensembles dedicated to the rescue and preservation of our sound roots.

Raíz Viva, Son4, and La Milpa filled the stage with identity and pride with performances that touched the hearts of more than 400 people. Raíz Viva presented a repertoire consisting of Pastor, Cielito Lindo Huasteco, and El Cascabel; Son4 performed Azul, El Gallo, a traditional Huasteco song, among others. La Milpa delighted with Bonita Finca de Adobe, Qué Manera de Perder, and La vi Estrenando Novio.

The three groups, at different points in their careers, have delved into research and the rescue of the region’s traditional Mexican music repertoire, contributing through their art to the preservation of the country’s sound memory.

“Traditional art and music have a fundamental place in our city’s identity. We are proud that, at this National Fair of San Marcos, we can recognize and showcase the local talent that keeps Mexico’s cultural heritage alive,” said Iván Sánchez Nájera, director of the IMAC.

With this concert, the IMAC reaffirms its commitment to strengthening popular culture, recognizing the value of artistic expressions that bring our traditions to life.
