The Acamoto 2025 festival, held in Acapulco, Guerrero, has left at least eight people dead and several injured this weekend.
It is estimated that around 6,000 motorcyclists have arrived at the port of Acapulco, taking over the main avenues, causing road disruptions along the Miguel Alemán coast.
Various videos posted on social media show motorcyclists performing stunts on the avenues, where several have been involved in accidents.
Likewise, drag racing and drivers on their motorcycles are shown entering the sand. All of these have caused accidents due to excessive speed.
Images of motorcyclists causing havoc inside stores, throwing products, have even been shared.
Authorities have deployed operations to maintain order and ensure traffic regulations are observed.
The Guerrero Tourism Secretariat reported that the beach promotion team is carrying out cleanup work on Costera Miguel Alemán Avenue following the “Acamoto 2025” event, with the goal of keeping the public areas of the tourist zone completely clean.
