The Amera cruise ship, operated by Phoenix Reisen, arrived this Tuesday at the port of Acapulco with 1,019 passengers on board, according to the arrival schedule planned for 2026. This is the second of 16 cruise ships scheduled to visit the Guerrero destination next year.
The docking was carried out in accordance with the protocols established by port and tourism authorities, as part of the operations included in the port’s maritime tourism agenda.
The cruise ship was received by the Municipal Government, headed by Mayor Abelina López Rodríguez, through the Secretary of Tourism, Noé Peralta Herrera, who attended on behalf of the mayor. Authorities from all three levels of government were present at the event.

During the Amera’s arrival, a coordinated operation was deployed, including the presence of National Guard members and security personnel, to maintain order at the maritime terminal and in visitor transit areas.
International Cruise Promotion and Routes
Internationally, Acapulco maintains its Platinum membership in the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), an organization that brings together the leading cruise lines in the Caribbean and related regions. This membership allows the port to establish direct contact with companies such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line, as well as participate in route planning processes.
According to FCCA data, cruise tourism generates billions of dollars in direct and indirect spending globally each year, impacting employment and the activities of local service providers. For Acapulco, a destination within the Triangle of the Sun (Triangle of the Sun), maritime activity is an integral part of its tourism dynamic.
Municipal authorities reported that the port continues preparations to receive the remaining cruise ships scheduled for 2026, as part of a strategy focused on port operations, tourism promotion, and institutional coordination.
