Earthquake today July 18 in Mexico: 4.6 magnitude earthquake shook Guerrero

The National Seismological Service (SSN) recorded a magnitude 4.6 earthquake with an epicenter 20 km northeast of Coyuca de Benítez, Guerrero, at 09:13. 

 The National Seismological Service (SSN) registered two earthquakes of magnitude 4.1 and 4.0 with epicenters 132 km southwest of Pijijiapan, Chiapas, at 05:57, and 26 km west of Vicente Guerrero, Baja California, at 05: 56 hours. 

 51 km southeast of San Marcos, Guerrero, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was reported at 05:05 hours, with a depth of 12.2 km. 

 Minutes later, at 04:36 a.m., an aftershock of magnitude 4.4 was recorded 67 km southwest of Cihuatlán, Jalisco, with a depth of 10 km. 

 Strong earthquake magnitude 5.6 was registered at 04:13 this Tuesday, 239 km southwest of Cihuatlán, Jalisco, with a depth of 10 km. 

 The National Civil Protection Coordination reported that it was not perceived by the population and that there were no damages; however, they will maintain monitoring. 

Earthquake in Mexico: earthquake of 5.6 magnitude in Cihuatlán 

Due to its geographical location, Mexico is continually exposed to this type of seismic event. 

 The National Seismological Service (SSN) reported an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 generated on July 18 near Cihuatlán, which occurred at 4:13 local time (10:13 UTC). 

 A magnitude 4.6 earthquake occurred southwest of Cihuatlán, Jalisco, was recorded at 04:04 hours by the SSN monitoring system. 

 At 03:19 a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded southwest of Mapastepec, Chiapas. According to the SSN it had a depth of 91.8 km, latitude of 15.29° and longitude of -93.08°. 

 As of 10:00 p.m. on July 15, there have been 123 aftershocks of the 6.5 magnitude earthquake reported in Chiapas on July 14. 

 A magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported at 02:07 in the San Marcos area of the state of Guerrero, reported the SSN. He explained that it had a depth of 16.9 km. 

 Another earthquake was reported in Oaxaca. It occurred at 01:31 a.m. 43 km southwest of Tehuantepec, with a depth of 84 km. 

4.0 magnitude earthquake is recorded in Tehuantepec 

The earthquake occurred at 1:31 a.m., at a distance of 43 km from Tehuantepec and had a depth of 84 km 

 Tehuantepec was the epicenter of a 4.0-magnitude tremor that surprised the residents of the state of Oaxaca on July 18 at 1:31 local time (7:31 UTC). 

 At 01:04 hours, the SSN reported the third earthquake of the day, of magnitude 4.2 with an epicenter 15 km from Coyuca de Benitez, Guerrero.
