Starting in October, direct flights from Canada to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo will begin arriving, marking the beginning of one of the most important tourist seasons of the year for the destination.
Mayor Liz Tapia Castro reported that routes from cities such as Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver have already been confirmed. Regarding the latter, she emphasized that previously only one weekly flight was available, but two round-trip flights have already been confirmed for this season.
The mayor emphasized that expectations for the end of 2025 are positive, as starting in November, tourists from various cities in the United States will also begin arriving, which will maintain a strong influx and economic impact until January of next year.
Local authorities and tourism service providers are confident that this air connectivity will strengthen the recovery and consolidation of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo as one of the preferred destinations for international visitors.
