Long Weekend with cultural, sports, and gastronomic events in Zihuatanejo

Thanks to adequate planning, the municipal government presided over by Lizette Tapia Castro managed to put together a series of events that, added to the natural attraction of the beaches, made the first long weekend of the year a success in tourist influx, reaching a hotel occupancy of 80.3 percent, according to figures reported by Sectur Guerrero.

On Friday, in the municipal court, the presentation of the folkloric dance group Caniandyua “Jóvenes Jaguar” was held, in the celebration of its first year of training under the direction of maestro Julio César Palacios Barragán, achieving a successful presentation.

On Saturday morning, the Race for the Day of the Nutritionist was held, a sporting event with a route of 5 kilometers, which had the participation mainly of people from the locality.

That same Saturday afternoon, the Paella Festival was held in its eighth edition, organized by the Rotary Club of Zihuatanejo, which was held on the main pier. There was the participation of 22 exhibitors, including hotels and restaurants, who presented their version of paella to hundreds of attendees.

On Sunday, February 1, the ballet Herencia Mexicana, from Monterrey, Nuevo León, was presented on the municipal court, as part of the Cultural Sundays program.

With this type of program, the government headed by Lizette Tapia Castro reiterates its commitment to consolidate a tourist destination in constant movement, where every time you visit, you find something new.
